Will challenge for increased playing time as a sophomore in 2013 for the returning Pac-12 and NCAA runners-up after the departure of several key players (including two starting outside hitters). Impressed coaches as a freshman with her athletic potential and was second most called-upon newcomer at outside hitter. As a frosh, was inserted in the Pac-12 and postseason matches in a double-switch to improve team's blocking in key situations late in various sets. One of team's busiest players off the court with her role on the department's Student-Athlete Advisory Council. In fall of 2012, was one of six Duck newcomers (including five freshmen and three outside hitters).
2012: Played 26 of the team's 35 matches, and among her 47 sets of action, five came in the postseason and 27 came in Pac-12 play. Notched her season high in kills (6) and hitting (.857) in the season-opening sweep of Toledo. In second week of season, made first collegiate start in three-set win over Western Carolina (4K, .273) and logged season high in blocks (2). Also logged multiple kills vs. UC Santa Barbara (3) and Houston (2), and blocks in wins over No. 24 Ohio State, UCSB, No. 2 Washington and Northern Colorado. Played four of the team's six matches in its best-ever NCAA tournament run, including two sets vs. the Longhorns in the national championship. Season Highs: Hitting: .857 (6K- 0E- 7A), vs. Toledo (8/24/12); Kills: 6 (6K- 0E- 7A) 3s, vs. Toledo (8/24/12); Points: 6.0 (6K- 0SA- 0B) 3s, vs. Toledo (8/24/12); Blocks: 2 (0 BA- 2 BS), vs. Western Carolina (8/31/12).
PREP: A PrepVolleyball Senior Ace 150 pick, she was honored in previous years by the publication as a Frosh 59 selection and Underclassman to Watch. She was an All-Kingco First-Team pick as a senior and freshman and a Second-Team choice as a sophomore and junior. As a senior, the four-year letterwinner averaged +5.00 kills per set and posted match highs of 26 kills and 18 digs. In the 4A state tourney, she led the team to its best-ever finish (sixth) after she landed 22 kills and 10 digs in a four-set win over Kent-Meridian. A 2009 USA Volleyball Select A1 Team member, her squad placed third in the 2009 High Performance Championships. Club-wise, her Washington Volleyball Academy team took 23rd in the 2011 Junior Nationals Open Division and 32nd in ’10. Off the court was a four-time scholar-athlete honoree.
PERSONAL: Sports Marketing intended major. Parents are Ben and Correine, and has one younger brother, Jack. Her aunt, Renee Magee, was a member of the 1976 U.S. Olympic swim team after she competed for N.C. State.
