EUGENE, Ore. — The No. 12 Oregon volleyball team suffered its first home loss of the season Saturday night with its straight-set loss to top-ranked Nebraska in front of a capacity crowd at Matthew Knight Arena. Sophomore opposite Alanah Clemente led all players with 16 kills in the setback. The Ducks are now 19-4 this season with a 10-3 mark in Big Ten play.
Â
A program-record 12,364 fans were in attendance for Saturday's match, replacing the previous mark of 8,566 from the 2024 Oregon-Nebraska match in Eugene. Saturday's figure is the fifth-largest crowd for an NCAA match this season.

Â
Clemente has reached double-digit kills in 12-consecutive matches with at least 15 kills in nine of those outings. She finished the match hitting .282 to go along with six digs and a block. The Nebraska defense, however, held the UO offense to a season-low .152 hitting percentage.
Â
Defensively, sophomore libero Reese Sheppard picked up a match-high 16 digs. As a team, however, the Cornhuskers out-dug Oregon, 44-37, and had three players with double-digit digs.
Â
"The thing that stood out the most as far as the biggest difference was their floor defense compared to ours," head coach Trent Kersten said following the match. "They were able to come up with a lot more quality digs and pursuit balls that were ricocheting off blocks, and they were much more polished in that skill than we were tonight.
Â
"One of the great parts about playing phenomenal teams is you get exposed exactly where you need to get exposed and you have a couple weeks to reset and address those things."
Â
With her 15th assist of the match—a second-set dish to Clemente in the back row—Marina Crownover reached 3,000 career assists between her time at Texas, Missouri and Oregon.
Â
Nebraska finished the match hitting .425 with three players in double figures, paced by Harper Murray and Teraya Sigler with 14 kills each.
Â
How It Happened: The visiting Cornhuskers never trailed in the opening set, jumping out an 8-2 lead. Clemente had four of her kills in the opening set but Nebraska (24-0, 13-0) pushed its advantage into double figures—17-7—with a block by Murray and Andi Jackson. The nation's top-ranked team came away with the opening set with a second-touch kill by setter Bergen Reilly.
Â
An early service error in the second set gave Oregon its first lead of the night and a Clemente kill gave the Ducks ahead, 2-1. But Nebraska answered with seven in a row forcing a UO timeout. Energized by the home crowd, Oregon pulled to within three—NU, 12-9—after consecutive kills from Clemente and Dalia Virlan. The Huskers answered right back with another seven-point surge to regain control of the frame, and went on to take the 2-0 match lead with a triple block of a back row attack by Clemente.
Â
The UO sophomore had seven of the team's 11 kills in the second set.
Â
In the closest set of the match, the team traded points through the first half of the third with Nebraska leading 15-14 at the media timeout. The Ducks took an 11-10 lead after back-to-back Clemente kills but after a Clemente block with Alaina Pollard tied the score at 14-all, the Cornhuskers won six of the next seven points to create separation.
Â
The Ducks got to within three—NU, 23-20—after a kill by Sjakkie Donkers but Nebraska rattled off the next two points to secure the sweep.
Â
Up Next: The Ducks host Northwestern Sunday (6 p.m., B1G+) on Senior Day.
