Laloulu Back On Rimington Trophy Watch List

NEW YORK – A finalist for the Rimington Trophy last season as a junior, Oregon's Iapani Laloulu is once again on the preseason watch list for the award that honors the top center in college football.Â
Laloulu returns for his final season with the Ducks in 2026, having started each of Oregon's last 30 games since making his starting debut in the 2024 Fiesta Bowl. Twenty-eight of those 30 starts have come at center, and he has established himself as the leader of an Oregon offensive line that has been a finalist for the Joe Moore Award each of the past three seasons.Â
Laloulu became the fourth Duck ever to be named a Rimington Trophy finalist in 2025, and he hopes to join Jackson Powers-Johnson (2023) as Oregon centers to win the prestigious honor.Â
Seven Ducks have been named to the preseason watch lists for five national awards this week. Laloulu was also previously selected to the watch list for the Outland Trophy, which he was a semifinalist for in 2025.Â
No. 2 in the AFCA preseason coaches poll, the Ducks began fall practice on Wednesday in preparation for their 2026 season opener against Boise State on Saturday, Sept. 5, in Autzen Stadium (12:30 p.m., CBS). Season and single-game tickets are available at www.GoDucks.com/fbtix.Â
