Ducks Go Low, Place Third In Regular-Season Finale
04/08/26 | Women's Golf
NAPA, Calif. – All five players in the Oregon women's golf lineup shot under par on Wednesday as the Ducks fired a terrific 9-under 279 to close the 2025-26 regular season with a third-place finish in the Chevron Silverado Showdown at Silverado Country Club and Resort.
No. 5 Oregon put together the second-best team score of the final round to finish in third place at 1-over par. No. 2 USC won the team title at 37 under and was followed by Eastern Michigan at 15 under.
The Ducks extended their streak of top-five finishes to 21 tournaments, placing in the top five of every event they've played since the start of the 2024-25 season.
Led by 3-under 69s from sophomores Tong An and Annika Ishiyama, Oregon's entire lineup shot under par for first time this season. The Ducks put together a stellar finish and a top-five showing despite playing without their two most experienced players in juniors Kiara Romero and Karen Tsuru, who just recently finished playing at the Augusta National Women's Amateur.
"I'm really proud of the way our team came out and finished this tournament and the regular season today," head coach Derek Radley said. "This week was an opportunity for some other players to step up with Kiara and Karen not here with us, and I thought our girls really seized the moment. This experience is going to be great for them as we go into postseason and figure out who our best five are. Postseason is the most exciting time of year and I can't wait to see what it has in store for this team."
How it Happened: The Ducks' terrific final round came on the strength of a great showing on the back nine. Oregon's five-player lineup combined to shoot even par on the front nine, but then caught fire on the back nine with a whopping 15 birdies against just five bogeys.
All five players in the lineup and redshirt senior Yvonne Vinceri, who was competing as an individual, made birdie on hole No. 9 to build momentum going into the back nine.
An started her day with a double bogey at No. 2 after a shotgun start, but immediately bounced back with a birdie and was nearly flawless the rest of the way. The sophomore made birdie at No. 9 and a bogey at No. 10, but then ripped off four birdies in her next eight holes en route to a 3-under 69.
It was a similar story for Ishiyama, who opened with a bogey but then made five birdies between No. 9 and No. 17. She drained three consecutive birdies on holes 15-17, and added another at No. 1 on her way to her lowest round yet as a Duck.
Freshman Sophie Han was bogey-free with two birdies for a 2-under 70, and both junior Darae Chung and freshman Shyla Singh came in with a 1-under 71. Chung was 3 over through eight holes but then went 4 under the rest of the way, including three birdies in five holes between No. 13 and No. 17.
An, Chung and Ishiyama all placed in the individual top 20, with Chung and An tying for 15th and Ishiyama tying for 18th. Singh tied for 21st and Han tied for 26th as Oregon's entire lineup finished in the top 30.
