The Ducks held their first scrimmage of this spring Saturday in Autzen Stadium.
EUGENE, Ore. — Spring practice for the Oregon football team reached the halfway point Saturday, and the Ducks marked the occasion with their first scrimmage of this year's spring drills.
The team scrimmaged for close to two hours Saturday morning inside Autzen Stadium. Rain fell early in the practice, but it was finished under clear skies.
Afterward, head coach Dan Lanning met with local media, as did receivers coach Ross Douglas, defensive lineman A'Mauri Washington and receiver Evan Stewart. Video of those interviews is embedded below.

Some highlights from coach Lanning …
On his initial impressions of the scrimmage: "Really good day of practice. Thought the guys did a good job of being physical. I mean, we were tackling out there today, and they were doing a good job of protecting their teammates but still maintaining the physicality necessary to go out there and have success. Some good back and forth, some good competition throughout the day. So, really good opportunity to get to the film and evaluate that."
On the play of the new-look offensive line: "Highs and lows — there were some positives — and I think there always will be, until we solidify, hey, this is that group that we're running out with. Here's the guys that are playing above-the-line football. I mean, it's tough when you mix our groups the way we do. What I do see is, you see a lot of guys that have the ability to play here, and some young guys that are stepping up and really advancing quickly."
On cohesiveness and chemistry on both sides of the ball: "I think those guys have done a really good job of that. It seems like, from a knowledge standpoint, we're certainly ahead of where we've been at times. So I think there's some positives really showing up there."
