Ducks Back at STC to Take on Pilots

EUGENE, Ore. – Coming off a two-match split in Texas during its first road trip of the spring, the Oregon women's tennis team returns to the Student Tennis Center to host in-state rival Portland on Saturday at noon.

The Ducks (4-1) pushed No. 22 Texas Tech on its home court to a 4-3 decision last Sunday, the second straight season that Oregon and the Red Raiders went the distance. UO rebounded the following day with a dominant 4-0 sweep of Sam Houston.
Sophomore Bridget Mihulka went 2-0 during singles play last week to push her spring record to 4-0. Redshirt senior Olivia Symons is tied with Mihulka atop the team standing with a 4-0 spring mark, with freshman Hinata Furutani unblemished at 2-0 after a victory against TTU at No. 5.
As a team this spring, Oregon's singles lineup boasts an 18-3 overall record with six players already collecting multiple victories.
On the doubles side, the freshman duo of Hadley Appling and Virginia Crocker are unbeaten so far this spring from the third spot in the lineup, going 2-0. UO's top doubles tandem of Tilde Jagare and Symons are 3-2, including a loss to the nation's 110th-ranked pair from Texas Tech.
Oregon and Portland will meet for the sixth straight season and 40th time in the series' history. The Ducks are 38-1 all-time against the Pilots after picking up a 4-2 victory a season ago at the Student Tennis Center.
