Oregon is up to No. 11 in this week’s AVCA coaches poll.
EUGENE, Ore. — Sophomore Alanah Clemente is the Co-Big Ten Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon. The Oregon opposite accounted for 4.56 points per set, 4.00 kills per set while hitting .463 and 1.13 blocks per set during the team's 2-0 weekend in Michigan.
Â
Oregon (14-2, 5-1 Big Ten) is on a five-match winning streak and is up to No. 11 in Monday's release of the AVCA coaches poll. The Ducks also check in at 10th in the latest RPI.
Â
Oregon is back at Matthew Knight Arena this weekend beginning Friday against No. 18 Indiana (6 p.m., B1G+). The Ducks will then host Rutgers on Sunday afternoon. Single-match and season tickets for all home matches are currently on sale.
Â
Clemente had 17 kills coupled with a season-high .520 hitting percentage in the Ducks' four-set win at then-No. 22 Michigan State. She added five digs and three blocks against the Spartans. She followed up with 15 kills (.414) and tied a season high with six total blocks against Michigan on the second half of a back-to-back.
Â
Her final kill against Michigan saved a set point in the fourth set, and two points later, she teamed up with Iva Sucurovic for the match-winning block.
Â
This is Clemente's third weekly honor of her career and first of the season. She was a two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week last year. Clemente also becomes the Ducks' second-ever Big Ten Player of the Week (Mimi Colyer, Oct. 2024).
Â
Clemente shared this week's honor with Nebraska's Harper Murray.
