09/30/25 | Women's Golf
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon women's golf junior Darae Chung claimed her first collegiate win on Tuesday, shooting 3-under par across three rounds to earn individual medalist honors at the 2025 Molly Collegiate Invitational at Trysting Tree Golf Club.
One of three Ducks competing in the tournament as an individual, Chung was the 36-hole leader after Monday, when she fired a 3-under 69 and a 2-under 70 to sit at 5-under par. She closed with a 2-over 74 on Tuesday to beat California's Michelle Woo by two strokes and become the first Duck to earn an individual victory this season.
All three of Oregon's participants finished in the individual top 10, with freshman Shyla Singh tying for fourth overall at 2 over and redshirt senior Yvonne Vinceri tying for 10th at 5 over.
How it Happened: Chung got out to a fast start on Monday, making three birdies in her first seven holes to quickly get to 3 under. She was 4 under through 15 holes before making a bogey, but finished with a pair of pars to card her first sub-70 performance as a Duck and fourth of her career.
It was more of the same for Chung in the second round, opening with three consecutive birdies after starting on hole No. 14. A double bogey at No. 1 and a bogey at No. 8 brought her final score up to a 2-under 70, but she combined to shoot 5 under across the other 16 holes.
Chung entered Tuesday's final round with a two-stroke lead, but was tied with Woo with three holes left to play. Sitting at 2 over for the round, Chung made three clutch pars on her final three holes while Woo carded a double bogey on her 17th hole. Chung made 12 total birdies across three rounds, tied for the most in the field.
Singh was just three strokes back of Chung after Monday, when she opened the tournament with back-to-back 1-under 71s. She closed with a 4-over 76 on Tuesday but still tied for fourth overall at 2 over for her first career top-10 finish. Singh led all players with 43 total pars for the week.
Vinceri got off to a slow start with a 6-over 78 in Monday's opening round, but bounced back with an even-par 72 in the second round before finishing strong with a 1-under 71 on Tuesday. Vinceri birdied her first hole of the day and was 2 under through 15 holes before making her first and only bogey of the round.
Up Next: No. 3 Oregon will return to team competition on Oct. 17-19 at the Stanford Intercollegiate.
