Molony Named Academic All-America

2025 CSC Academic All-America® Teams

EUGENE, Ore. – The College Sports Communicators named Maddox Molony to the 2025 Academic All-America® Baseball Second Team on Tuesday. Molony is just the second Duck in Oregon baseball program history to earn Academic All-America recognition.

The Ducks' shortstop, who boasts a 3.88 GPA in multi-disciplinary science, joins Aaron Zavala who was a first-team selection in 2021 as the program's only Academic All-Americans.

Molony, a two-time all-league selection in his two seasons at Oregon, slashed .309/.403/.565 with a .968 OPS during his sophomore season. The 2025 third-team All-Big Ten Conference selection belted 15 home runs, good for 10th all-time in a single season at Oregon, while driving in 45 runs, scoring 41 times and swiping 10 bags in 10 attempts. He ran his career total in home runs to 25, which is already tied for sixth in program history. During league games, Molony hit eight of his homers while batting .297 with 24 RBI and 19 runs scored. He reached base at a .378 clip while slugging .550.
