STANFORD, Calif. - Ramil Saelim sits in second place and senior Eric Doyle ended his day tied for third individually after the opening round at The Goodwin.
Coming off of top 10 finishes earlier this week at the Duck Invitational, the duo continued to strike the ball well, carding a combined nine birdies and an eagle against just two bogeys.
"Those two were amazing," head coach Casey Martin said. "I have been so impressed with home much Bright has improved this year, he has helped us so much, and Eric has been a rock. Now we need to get everyone going tomorrow.
The Ducks combined to shoot a combined 1-under 279 at Stanford Golf course and will start play Friday tied for sixth place. BYU and Stanford are tied for the team lead at 5 under.

Saelim opened his round with a birdie on the par-4 10th. He added another birdie on No. 14 and an eagle on No. 16 to cap a flawless first nine. He sat at 4-under at the turn and finished the same after a birdie and a bogey in the second nine.
