The Ducks return home after a two-match swing through the state of Illinois, where they dropped a 4-1 decision at Illinois last Saturday before a 4-0 sweep at the hands of Northwestern on Monday. UO picked up the doubles point for the first time in Big Ten play against the Fighting Illini, getting victories from the teams of Bridget Mihulka and Karin Young at No. 2 in addition to Candela Aparisi and Marjorie Souza at No. 3.
Five of Oregon's first six Big Ten opponents have been ranked in the ITA's top 75, including each of the last four matches.
Tilde Jagare, playing at No. 3 in the lineup, is off to an 8-2 start this spring to lead the team, while freshman Patsy Daughters is tied with Karin Young for the second-most singles wins at seven. Jagare and partner Juliet Santitto have earned four doubles wins this spring, with Daughters and Young matching that win total, all coming at the top spot in the doubles lineup.
So far this spring, Oregon features a 33-33 combined singles record to go with a 19-19 doubles mark. The Ducks have gone on to clinch the doubles points in eight of 15 matches this season.
Indiana snapped a three-match skid with a 4-2 win over Rutgers in its last outing. Purdue, ranked No. 63, has won seven of its last nine matches and picked up two wins last weekend – a 4-1 win over Rutgers and a 4-2 decision over Maryland.
The only meeting between the Ducks and Hoosiers came back in 2010, with IU pulling off a 4-3 victory. UO and Purdue have split two all-time meetings, the last also coming in 2010.
