Men's Golf Tied for Lead at Duck Invitational
03/24/25 | Men's Golf
EUGENE, Ore. – After 36 holes of continuous play on a gorgeous spring day at Eugene Country Club, the Oregon men's golf team is tied for the lead at the Duck Invitational.
The Ducks opened the day with a 5-under 279 before shooting a 4-under 280 in the second round. Oregon is tied with Saint Mary's and hold a three-stroke lead over Wyoming and six-shot edge over Colorado State. The four teams will be paired together in Tuesday's final round.
"It was a wonderful day at Eugene Country Club," head coach Casey Martin said. "We've never had better weather. The guys battled and did some good things, we just need to grind it out tomorrow and be tough."
Individually, Ramil Saelim (T4, -6) and Aiden Krafft (T7, -4) sit in the top 10 after play concluded on Monday. Eric Doyle, Gabriel Hari and Jeffrey Kwak join them in the top 25. Wyoming's Jaren Calkins leads the field at 10-under.
How It Happened
Saelim put together a steady first round, finishing even par with one birdie and one bogey. The freshman, who goes by the name "Bright," shined in the second round, finishing at 6 under – the lowest round of the day – thanks to eight birdies, including one on the par-4 18th with very little light left on the course. Five of his nine birdies on the day came on the last seven holes.
Krafft bogeyed the second hole to start the day, but it was the lone blemish on his scorecard in the first round. The junior sat even at the turn thanks to a birdie on the par-5 sixth, then carded four birdies in his final seven holes to finish with a 4-under 67. He tallied two more birdies on the front nine in the second round to go with seven pars, finishing even for the round after two bogeys on the back.
Doyle sat at 1-under after the first round, carding three birdies and two bogeys. He added three more birdies and another pair of bogeys in his first six holes to start the second round, finishing even after playing the back nine 1 over. The senior will start Tuesday second round tied for 15th.
Greyson Leach sits at 2-over for the tournament after an even-par 71 in the first round and a 2-over 73 in the second. The senior tallied five birdies and seven bogeys on the day, including birdies on the 13th and 16th holes in each round. Jay Gould-Healy rounded out the Ducks's lineup, finishing 7-over after 36 holes.
A pair of individuals also sit in the top 25 after Monday's opening rounds – Gabriel Hari sits in 15th at 1 under and Jeffrey Kwak is tied for 21st at even par. Hari opened the day with three straight birdies, helping lead him to an even par finish in the first round before carding five birdies in his second 18 to shoot a 1-under 70. Kwak finished 1-over par in his first round before a 1-under finish in the second round, tallying six birdies on the day.
