Men's Tennis Defeats Penn State for First Big Ten Win

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon men's tennis picked up their first conference win of the season on Sunday, sweeping Penn State 4-0 in the Student Tennis Center.
The Ducks came out hot when doubles kicked off at 9 a.m. PT. Courts one and three both went to Oregon in dominant 6-1 performance. Vlad Breazu and Lachlan Robertson picked up the first one on court three and Lenn Luemkemann and Matthew Burton quickly followed on court one to give UO the 1-0 lead.
Robertson kept his momentum in singles play on court six, picking up the second point of the day for Oregon after a 6-3, 6-4 win. Freshman Paris Pouatcha moved to court four today and got the third point for Oregon another sweep, 6-2, 7-5. Oregon No. 1 Luemkemann then secured the decisive point, a 7-5, 6-3 win.
Up next: Rivals Washington are in town on Saturday at 2 p.m. PT in the Student Tennis Center.
