Schyllander Signs Contract Extension Through 2028-29 Season

EUGENE, Ore. — University of Oregon men's tennis head coach Nils Schyllander has signed a contract extension through the 2028-29 season, it was announced Thursday.

Schyllander recently completed his 20th season leading the Ducks and has spent 27 years at Oregon. He has compiled 285 wins with the Ducks and is one of just two coaches in program history to reach 200 victories.

"Nils's strong commitment to the holistic development of Oregon men's tennis student-athletes and providing them with a first-class experience is reflected throughout the program," said athletic director Rob Mullens. "His teams consistently represent Oregon at a high level both on the court and in the classroom, and we look forward to all that the student-athletes in this program will continue to achieve."

Under Schyllander, Oregon has made five NCAA Tournament appearances, including four trips to the second round. He led the Ducks to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances in 2016 and 2017 and was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year following the 2016-17 season.

During his tenure, Oregon men's tennis student-athletes have also established numerous Oregon records, with 13 different players earning all-conference honors. His student-athletes account for 60 Academic Honor Roll appearances.

Schyllander originally joined Oregon as an assistant coach before taking over the men's program prior to the 2007 season. He is one of only two coaches in ITA history to earn regional coach of the year honors with both a men's and women's team.
