Men’s Golf Leads Field Heading into Final Round
03/10/25 | Men's Golf
BANDON, Ore. – The Ducks started the day in the lead at the Bandon Dunes Championship and will carry that designation when they tee off in Tuesday's final round, extending their lead to six strokes on Monday.
The Ducks shot a 5-over 289 at Bandon Trails in the second round, the second lowest score of the day and two strokes better than their opening round tally. UO will enter the final round with a two-day total of 580 (+12), while Boise State sits in second place at 18 over.
Greyson Leach and Ramil Saelim are both in the hunt for the individual title as well. Leach sits in second place at 3 under, four shots back of Utah Valley's Dane Huddleston, while Saelim is in fifth place at 1 over.
How It Happened
The low scores weren't as low on Monday as they were in Sunday's opening round, but neither were the highs. Leach, Saelim and Aiden Krafft all carded a 1-over 72 to tie for the lowest score of the day for the Ducks, while Jay Gould-Healy shot a 72 to round out the counting scores.
Leach entered the day in the lead at 4 under, but he dropped to 1 under after a bogey on No. 2 and a double bogey on No. 4. The senior responded well, playing his last 10 holes 2-under par with three birdies.
Saelim teed off on No. 2 and tallied seven pars before notching his first birdie of the day on the par-5 ninth. He carded three straight bogeys after the turn, but a birdie on No. 16 followed by three pars in a row kept him in the top five heading into Tuesday's finale.
Krafft carded a team-high five birdies to climb nine spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 12th. The junior shot a 2-under 34 on the front nine with three birdies and a bogey before a 3-over back nine. Gould-Healy finished with three birdies and five bogeys and sits tied for 28th.
Competing individually, Tim Chang still sits in the top 25 after a 7-over finish. After a tough stretch to start the round, the freshman played his last 12 holes 1-under par with back-to-back birdies on Nos. 10 and 11 and will start the third round tied for 21st.
Quotable
"Another decent but not great day for us," head coach Casey Martin said. "Grateful we are leading, but we need to clean up some things. Way too many big misses today. Hopefully tomorrow we put it all together."
