Krafft in the Hunt After Round Two at The Prestige
02/18/25 | Men's Golf
LA QUINTA, Calif. – Junior Aiden Krafft sits just four strokes off the lead at The Prestige after a challenging second round at the Greg Norman Course at PGA WEST on Tuesday.
Krafft entered the day in a three-way share of the lead after shooting a 5-under 67 in Monday's opening round and carded a 2-over 73 in his second 18. The junior is still in the mix heading into Wednesday's finale, sitting in a tie for 11th at 3 under after 36 holes. Kansas State's Kobe Valociek, who was one of the two tied with Krafft atop the leaderboards heading into the day, sits in sole possession of first place at 7 under.
As a team, Oregon sits in a tie for 13th place after a 6-over 290 on Tuesday. The Ducks were one of 12 teams to tee off during the morning wave and the wind proved to be a factor, as eight of those teams finished the day over par. San Diego leads the field at 11 under after 36 holes.
How It Happened
Krafft started his day with a bogey on No. 10 but responded with seven-straight pars before bogeying No. 18. He played the front nine flawlessly, however, carding nine pars in a row to end the round and sits in a tie for 11th place heading into the final round.
Eric Doyle and Jay Gould-Healy also finished at two over on the day. Doyle sat at 1 under through six holes, but four bogeys against one birdie in his last twelve pushed him over par. Gould-Healy opened his round with a birdie but ran into trouble shortly after, carding three bogeys in a row and sat at 3 over at the turn. He finished strong, however, turning in a perfect scorecard in his last nine holes with a birdie and eight pars.
Greyson Leach turned in the best card of the day for the Ducks, finishing even par to round out Oregon's counting scores. He tallied three birdies and three bogeys on the day after a 6-over finish on Monday.
