EUGENE, Ore. – On the heels of a top-10 road win, the Oregon volleyball team is back home this week beginning Wednesday against No. 16 USC. The midweek matchup is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start at Matthew Knight Arena.
Oregon (15-11, 6-10 B1G) is up to No. 51 in the latest release of the NCAA RPI rankings. The team faces two top-40 RPI opponents this week in USC (19) and Michigan (35).
Series Info vs USC
Oregon has won nine of the past 14 matches against USC but the Trojans picked up a sweep in the first meeting this season (Oct. 9) in Los Angeles. In the recent history between the two programs, the Ducks have won 13 of 24 dating back 2012, good for more than half of their wins in the all-time series (21).
Series Info vs Michigan
Saturday will be the sixth meeting between Oregon and Michigan with the Ducks holding a 3-2 edge including last season's sweep in Ann Arbor. Valentina Vaulet, then a Wolverine, had a double-double with 14 kills and 10 digs against the Ducks. The only previous match played in Eugene was a 3-0 Oregon win in 2014.

The Ducks picked up a five-set road win over then-No. 9 Purdue behind a trio of career-high performances. Alanah Clemente led all players with 25 kills (.340), Cora Taylor dished out 59 assists and freshman libero Reese Sheppard had 19 digs. For a second time this year, Alanah Clemente has earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week. She averaged 4.94 points per set, 4.44 kills per set, 1.67 digs per set and had three aces during the Ducks' road trip to Indiana and Purdue. Clemente tallied a career-high 25 kills to go along with seven digs, three assists, three blocks and three aces in the team's five-set road win at Purdue. Clemente enters the week third in the nation among freshmen with 4.41 points per set and leading the Big Ten with 44 service aces.

Senior setter Cora Taylor dished out a career-high 59 assists and directed the team to a season-high .338 hitting percentage in the team's five-set win at No. 9 Purdue (Oct. 15). She is now up to 3,893 career assists which ranks 10th among active Division I setters. Taylor also leads UO with five double-doubles this season including two in the past three matches. She is averaging 9.54 assists per set during Big Ten play.
Steady as She Goes
During the Ducks' Indiana-Purdue weekend road trip, senior Sophia Meyers averaged 2.78 kills per set coupled with a .333 hitting percentage. She began the weekend with 10 kills (.348) at No. 18 Indiana and followed up with 15 kills (.324) and 11 digs in the win over ninth-ranked Purdue. Meyers has 10 or more kills in 11 matches this season, hitting .275 or higher in nine of those outings.
Service Pressure
Oregon enters the week third in the Big Ten with 174 aces this season. Individually, Alanah Clemente and Valentina Vaulet are first and second in the conference with 44 and 43 service winners, respectively. The Ducks are up to six players with 10 or more aces this season with the additional efforts of Cora Taylor (20), Iva Sucurovic (16), Sophia Meyers (14) and Reese Sheppard (13). The team has at least five service aces in 22 of 26 matches including three double-digit outings.
