EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon women's basketball team looks to keep its strong start to the 2025-26 season going on Tuesday evening, as the Ducks host Grand Canyon at Matthew Knight Arena at 6 p.m. PT.
The Ducks look to start the season 3-0 for the 11th consecutive season after a 90-47 victory over Montana on Saturday.
Tuesday will mark the third straight season that Oregon and Grand Canyon will meet, and the second consecutive year in Eugene. The Ducks have won the two previous meetings, including a 70-54 win that was one of just three GCU losses during the 2024-25 campaign.

UO's bench accounted for 47 of its 90 points, getting a team-leading 12 points from F Ehis Etute to go with a career-high 11 from G Avary Cain off the bench. For the second straight game, five Ducks scored in double figures, getting 10 points apiece from G Sofia Bell, G Katie Fiso and G Elisa Mevius.
Oregon's defense forced 23 UM turnovers behind 16 steals for its second consecutive outing forcing at least 20 turnovers and producing double-digit steals. G Astera Tuhina tallied a career-best five steals to lead seven players that recorded at least one theft.
SCOUTING GRAND CANYON
Grand Canyon (0-2) eyes its first win of the new season on Tuesday after dropping consecutive games in the opening week. GCU opened its season with a 94-54 loss at No. 2 South Carolina and dropped a 67-55 decision in its home opener Saturday to Idaho State.
The Antelopes are led by first-year head coach Winston Gandy, who helped South Carolina win the 2024 national title as an assistant. Gandy took over for departed Molly Miller, who was named the head coach at Arizona State after leading GCU to a 32-3 record and an NCAA Tournament berth last season.
Through two games, sophomore Chloe Mann paces the Lopes offense with 18.0 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the floor (46 percent from the 3-point line). Mann was tabbed the Mountain West Preseason Newcomer of the Year after transferring from Cincinnati.
GCU, who won the WAC a season ago, was picked seventh in the Mountain West preseason poll.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Tuesday will mark the third consecutive season that Oregon and Grand Canyon will meet, with the Ducks winning both previous matchups. A season ago, the Ducks defeated the Antelopes 70-54 at Matthew Knight Arena. F Amina Muhammad scored 11 points and grabbed 10 boards in the win. UO's bench outscored GCU's 28-2, while the Oregon defense held Grand Canyon to 35 percent shooting and 25 percent from the 3-point line.
OFF AND RUNNING
The Oregon women's basketball team got its 2025-26 season started with an emphatic 100-59 victory over West Georgia on Nov. 3, and followed that up with a 90-47 win over Montana on Saturday. UO's swarming defense helped the Ducks forced 32 UWG turnovers behind 24 steals, leading to 41 points off turnovers. Their 24 steals, their most since 2013, helped the Ducks pile up 32 fast-break points and 54 points in the paint.
Five Ducks turned in double-digit scoring efforts against the Wolves, led by 16 points from F Mia Jacobs. G Elisa Mevius added 15, F Sarah Rambus dropped 13 and both G Katie Fiso and F Amina Muhammad contributed 10 points. Fiso also handed out 10 assists without committing a turnover for her first career double-double. In total, 11 different players finished with at least one steal and 11 players handed out at least one assist. Oregon finished with 30 assists on 43 made field goals while turning the ball over just six times, marking its highest assist-to-turnover ratio (5.00) since Jan. 10, 2021.
The 100-point scoring outburst marked the 66th time under Graves that the Ducks reached the 100-point mark, and the first time since the 2022-23 season opener against Northwestern (100-57).
Against the Grizzlies, UO recorded 16 steals in forcing 23 turnovers that resulted in 23 points. The Ducks' bench accounted for 47 of their 90 points, getting double-digit scoring efforts from reserves F Ehis Etute (12) and G Avary Cain (11). Playing with an increased emphasis on tempo, Oregon's offensive rating of 125.8 (points per 100 possessions) ranks fourth in the Big Ten while averaging 74.3 possessions per 40 minutes (ninth in Big Ten). Five players scored in double figures for the second straight game.

Fiso, who was the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Washington her senior season, got her first career start in the season opener against West Georgia and turned in her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 assists - without a turnover. She again scored 10 points to go with five assists against Montana on Saturday and now has five career games with 10 or more points.
» 10 assists and three steals were both career highs against UWG, logging 23 minutes after averaging just 9.7 a game last season.
» Her 7.5 assist-to-turnover ratio is third-best in the Big Ten and 14th in the country, with her 7.5 assists a game being the third-highest in the conference.

According to head coach Kelly Graves, junior F Sarah Rambus put together one the team's best offseasons and is ready to make a big leap forward in 2025-26. Rambus displayed some of that potential in the team's lone exhibition game against Western Oregon, as she scored a game-high 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting while grabbing eight rebounds. In the season opener with West Georgia, she earned her third career start and turned in 13 points in just 14 minutes, going 6-for-10 from the field while grabbing four boards. It was Rambus' fourth career game scoring in double figures, with UO going unbeaten in games she scores 10 or more points.
EHIS THE BEAST
Sophomore F Ehis Etute has shown flashes of brilliance in her season-plus as a Duck. The 6-foot Luxembourg product led Oregon with 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench against Montana on Saturday, her fourth career double-digit scoring effort. Etute, an adept rebounder, has led UO in rebounding in both games this season and now six times in her career. Etute averaged 9.9 minutes a game during her freshman campaign and is logging 18.1 minutes a game thus far in 2025-26.
A.T., ARE YA WITH ME?
Senior G Astera Tuhina, who enters her first season in Eugene after three at Washington State, has made in impact off the bench through two games of her Oregon career. In Saturday's win against Montana, she carded a career-high five steals while handing out four assists without a turnover. In her UO debut last Monday, Tuhina logged six assists without committing a turnover and now has 10 assists against no turnovers on the young season.

Since its opening in 2011, the Ducks have been dominant in defending Matthew Knight Arena, posting an all-time record of 175-71 (.711). Since 2017-18, UO is 107-24 (.816) at home, with a 47-20 (.701) conference record, while outscoring opponents by an average of 19.9 points a game in that span. Last season, opponents averaged just 57.4 points a game while shooting 39.1 percent from the floor.
