
Men's Tennis Drops Match to Tulsa

NORMAN, Okla. - Oregon men's tennis dropped a heart breaker in Oklahoma on Sunday, falling 4-3 to Tulsa.
In the second match of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, the Ducks fell behind early after dropping the doubles point with Tulsa wins on courts one and three. Paris Pouatcha and Clement Lemire were up 6-5 when the point was clinched on court three.
Down 1-0, Oregon bounced back quickly in singles after Zian Vanderstappen (6-1, 6-4) and Matthew Burton (6-2, 6-3) picked up sweeps in singles. Paris Pouatcha soon made it a trio of sweeps, winning 6-3, 6-3 on court three. The Ducks needed just one more point to secure the win, but Tulsa wins on courts three and two tied the match up at three-all.
The deciding point came on court one, after Lenn Luemkemann dropped the first set, but battled back to force a third. The two traded points and ended even at 6-6. Luemkemann would go on to fall 7-3 in the tiebreak, giving Tulsa the 4-3 win.
