The Ducks beat Lafayette, 12-2, to finish off a four-game series at PK Park.
Seitter (1-0) struck out a career-high 11 over six innings, and three relievers each threw a scoreless inning behind him. Every member of the starting lineup scored a run, and Oregon natives Bryce Boettcher and Ryan Cooney each homered as part of a 13-hit day offensively.
"More complete, less young — played a little bit older," UO coach Mark Wasikowski said in comparing the finale to the rest of the series. "And got a really good pitching performance by Kevin Seitter. That set the tempo for us and I thought was a big part of the game."
The Ducks won while wearing new throwback uniforms that honored the 1954 team, Oregon's first and to this point only squad to make the College World Series.
"It's a blessing to be able to rock these today and honor the guys from 1954," Seitter said. "We talked about it earlier today, that the standard needs to be where they were at, in Omaha that year. So we just tried to embody that perspective, if you will."

How It Happened: Seitter made his second appearance for the Ducks as a transfer from Quinnipiac, having thrown four innings of a win over Baylor on Oregon's opening weekend. He allowed a run in the third after Lafayette put runners at second and third with one out, and also a solo homer in the fifth. He struck out three in both the first and sixth innings.
"Today was definitely a step in the right direction," Seitter said. "Having a week to go over film with (pitching coach Blake Hawksworth) and a productive practice week was huge. Your first time out of the season is always something to build off of, so we're just gonna keep going in the right direction."
Showing the maturity Wasikowski liked all day, the Ducks loaded the bases in the first, all with two outs, and scored the first run of the game on a wild pitch. They broke out in the second, again doing most of their damage with two out — Chase Meggers plated two runs with a one-out single, and with two outs Oregon got an RBI double from Jeffery Heard, scored a run on a passed ball and made it 6-1 on an RBI single by Carter Garate.
Cooney, a freshman from Portland, made it 7-2 in the bottom of the sixth with his second home run of the weekend.

"It's awesome being a younger guy and getting to do that — but I think it's awesome just being able to contribute overall," Cooney said. "It doesn't have to go over the fence for me to contribute; it did this time, and I'm happy about it. But I'm just happy I get to get the chance to compete out there with the guys."
Cooney later tripled to open the seventh, and two batters later Boettcher made it 10-2 with a three-run homer. Anson Aroz came through with a pinch-hit single later in the inning, making it 11-2.
The Ducks scored again with two outs in the eighth, when Jack Brooks reached on an error and Garate came home on the play. With third baseman Drew Smith sitting out following an ejection Saturday, Garate shifted from shortstop to third, Cooney moved from second base to shortstop and Brooks got the start at second.
"He added some energy," Wasikowski said of Brooks. "He had a lot of hustle. He's a kid that is a tremendously exciting player, and he's got a chance to be a really good player for us in an Oregon uniform. I felt like Jack had a really good day at the plate, just providing some energy and just doing little things."
Brock Moore, Jaxon Jordan and Turner Spoljaric each pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Moore touched 102 miles per hour while striking out two in the seventh, Jordan struck out the side in the eighth and Spoljaric retired three straight after a leadoff double in the ninth.
Up Next: The Ducks will host a three-game series with UC Santa Barbara at PK Park beginning Friday at 4 p.m.
