Oregon Heads North to Take on Huskies

EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon women's basketball team visits Washington for the only regular-season matchup between the teams Friday, as the Ducks and Huskies tip at 7 p.m. PT at Alaska Airlines Arena.

LAST TIME OUT
Oregon suffered its ninth straight loss Sunday against No. 9 UCLA 74-55. It was the Ducks' seventh consecutive contest against a team ranked in the top 20.
UO got a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double from Grace VanSlooten and 15 points from Chance Gray. Despite having a higher field goal percentage (39.3-38.0), UCLA attempted 23 more field goals, due in large part to the Ducks' 16 turnovers and the Bruins' 19 offensive rebounds.
UCLA converted those 16 Oregon turnovers into 22 points and owned a 24-7 edge in second-chance points. UO went just 1-for-6 from the 3-point line, while the Bruins shot 9-for-29.
SCOUTING WASHINGTON
Washington (13-12, 3-11) sits one game ahead of Oregon in the Pac-12 standings after the Huskies dropped a pair of multi-overtime games at the Arizona schools over the weekend. Overall, UW has lost six straight games - three of which in overtime - and 12 of its last 14 games dating back to Dec. 20.
UW, who ranks 10th in the Pac-12 in scoring offense, is led by three players who average above 11.0 points per game in Elle Ladine (11.9), Lauren Schwartz (11.8) and Dalayah Daniels (11.5). Daniels is the team's leading rebounder at 6.9 a game
As a team, the Huskies are 10th in the conference in assists per game, free throw percentage and 3-point percentage, but rank third in 3-point defense, as teams shoot just 29.2 percent against them.
Daniels has the third-most blocks in the league with 47, raking fourth with 1.9 a game. Daniels' averages the 11th-most rebounds per game in the Pac-12.
INSIDE THE SERIES

Each team won on its home floor during the regular season, while Oregon defeated the Huskies in the first round of last year's Pac-12 Tournament. CLOSING TIME
Oregon has been at its best when it counts this season, averaging 32.9 points in the second halves of games compared to 27.9 points in first halves. The Ducks average 16.6 points in the third quarter, most of any single quarter and, as a team, UO has a higher field goal percentage (41.2%), 3-point percentage (32.7%) and free throw percentage (73.9%) in the fourth quarter than overall for the season and have outscored their opponents in the fourth quarter 11 times on the season.

The 12-team women's basketball field for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has been set and multiple former Ducks will be on display at the next Summer Games. Nyara and Satou Sabally helped Germany qualify for its first-ever Olympic Games while Maite Cazola led Spain to a qualifying berth. Oregon legend Sabrina Ionescu was a member of Team USA's Olympic Qualifying Team, and looks poised to make the national roster as Team USA defends its Olympic gold medal from the Tokyo 2020 Games.
