Ducks Knock Off Broncos

BOISE, Idaho – The Oregon women's tennis team picked up its fourth win in its last five matches Friday, taking down Boise State 6-1 at Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
The Ducks (5-3) won five of six singles matches after clinching a hotly contested doubles point in earning its first road win of the season.
After splitting at Nos. 1 and 3, the doubles point was decided by a tiebreak on court two. The Ducks' Jo-Yee Chan and Tilde Jagare, playing together for the first time this season, trailed 3-5 to Boise State's Pauline Ernstberger and Shauna Heffernan before leveling the match at five games apiece. The match would go into a tiebreak, where Chan and Jagare outlasted the Broncos' pair and clinched the point with a 7-6 (2) victory.
Candela Aparisi and Karin Young collected their fourth win of the spring together with a 6-2 win at No. 3. Sophie Luescher and Uxia Martinez Moral, playing at the top spot, fell 6-1 to BSU's Nicole Discenza and Lorelyz Marruffo.
It marked the sixth time in eight matches the Ducks have grabbed the doubles point this spring.
Martinez Moral handed UO a 2-0 lead with her 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 3 before the Broncos cut the deficit in half with a straight-set win on court five. Martinez Moral stretched her singles winning streak to three matches while improving her spring record to 6-2.
The Ducks won the next four matches, with two coming in three sets, to seal the victory. Jagare earned her first collegiate spring dual victory at No. 6, defeating Ana Conde Vendrell 6-2, 6-2 for Oregon's third point.
Young extended her singles winning streak to six matches while claiming the decisive fourth point with her 6-2, 7-5 win over Heffernan on court four.
With the match already in hand, Luescher and Chan completed two comeback victories. Each dropped their first set by a score of 6-4 before storming back to win in three sets. Chan won her next two sets by the score of 6-1, 6-3 while Luescher won her second set against Ersntberger 6-4 before finishing a third-set 10-point tiebreaker 10-5.
It marked the second straight match for Chan at the second position in the lineup, as she improved her dual record to 5-3.
The Ducks are now 11-3 against BSU all-time and have won the last four matchups. Oregon will take on Minnesota in a neutral-site match on Saturday in Boise at Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
