WACO, Texas. — Oregon fell for the second time this season and the first time on the road in a 278.520-274.990.
Following a season-best performance at Matthew Knight Arena, the Ducks (3-2) put together another strong performance but fell to the Bears (7-0) in consecutive meets this season.
"Tonight was a fun meet with intense competition," said head coach Taylor Susnara following Oregon's penultimate regular season meet. "Our goal was to focus on ourselves and we did that. We made a couple of mistakes here and there, but all in all, I'm proud of how they fought and performed. We're excited to get back in the gym and prep for our next meet."
How it Happened: Both teams continued season trends of solid starts. The Ducks trailed after the first event for only the second time this season after falling behind 38.400-38.000.
After taking the acro event 29.75-28.50, the Bears grew their lead to 68.150-66.500. The highlight of the second segment for Oregon was a season-best 9.80 in the acro seven element.
The Ducks' deficit became larger after a 29.80-29.40 pyramid event. Oregon's success in the third event kept the margin close with a 9.90 in the open pyramid.
