EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon Acrobatics & Tumbling concluded its 2023 regular season on Friday with a 273.785-269.045 victory over No. 3 Azusa Pacific.
The Ducks (4-2) continued their historical dominance over the Cougars (4-3), capturing the 21st win in 22 meetings between the programs.
"Tonight's win was important for a lot of reasons, but more importantly, it was fun!" head coach Taylor Susnara said following Oregon's victory Friday evening. "We executed well in most events, yet still room to grow before the [NCATA National] Championship. We were grateful to have such an awesome crowd this evening, and can't thank them enough!" Susnara provided one last note to this season's 14 seniors, "to our senior class - you will be missed, and we love you always. Once a Duck, always a Duck."

How it Happened: Oregon found itself in familiar territory, taking an early lead after the compulsory event, 37.95-35.00. The Ducks' efforts were supported by a 9.85 in the pyramid heat of the first event.
The advantage only grew for Oregon following a 28.95-27.60 acro event, making the total scores 66.900-62.600. The event was highlighted by a season-best performance of 9.85 in the five element heat. The Ducks remained unfazed by a push from Azusa Pacific, capturing the pyramid event 28.70-29.60. A 9.95 in the open pyramid heat from the quintet of Sydney Szarka, Alexis Estrada, Lindsey Tarr, Makena Carrion and Blessyn McMorris affirmed Oregon's 96.60-92.20 lead heading into the break.
The Ducks kept their foot on the gas out of the intermission, putting up a season-high 28.95 in the toss event, with each heat scoring 9.600 or higher.

Oregon hit its only stumbling block of the night, dropping the tumbling heat by a narrow 55.975-55.875 margin. Heat scores of 9.775 from Rachel Furlong and Haley Ellis headlined the fifth event of the evening. Heading into the final event of the evening, Oregon held a 181.425-176.875 lead over Azusa Pacific.
