Top-10 Matchup Kick Starts Road Weekend

Sixth-ranked Oregon takes on No. 4 Stanford Thursday on Pac-12 Insider.
EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 6 Oregon volleyball team opens its weekend on road Thursday evening at No. 4 Stanford. First serve of the top-10 matchup is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oregon (21-4, 11-3) enters the match alone in second place in the Pac-12, two game behind the Cardinal.

Series Info vs Stanford
Oregon had won three-consecutive matches against Stanford before the Cardinal's 3-1 victory Oct. 22 in Eugene. The Ducks have just two wins on Stanford's home floor but one came in their last trip to Maples Pavilion in 2021. The Cardinal lead the all-time series, 69-7. The teams are meeting as top-10 foes for the second time this season.

The Ducks have won 17 of the past 18 meetings against California including seven consecutive. During that stretch, 15 of the 17 wins have come by way of a sweep including Oregon's 3-0 win earlier this season in Eugene (Oct. 20). Cal leads the all-time series, 55-34.

Oregon is up one spot to No. 6 in the most recent AVCA poll and check in at seventh in the current RPI standings. Three of the Ducks' final six opponents of the season are currently in the top 25 with No. 4 Stanford, No. 17 Arizona State and No. 25 USC. Those same teams are also among the top 31 in the RPI.

Behind a season-high 12 service aces, the then-No. 7 Oregon volleyball team posted a four-set victory over Colorado (Nov. 5) at Matthew Knight Arena. The UO offense generated a .380 hitting percentage, paced by a pair of 15-kill performances by Mimi Colyer and Gabby Gonzales.

The Ducks enter the weekend second in the Pac-12 and ninth nationally with 14.16 kills per set. The team is also ninth in the NCAA with its .289 hitting percentage. Oregon has hit .300 or higher in 13 contests this season including four with at least a .400 figure.
Milestone Watch
Senior setter Hannah Pukis enters Friday's match with 4,983 career assists, a figure that ranks second on the NCAA active leaders list. The Tacoma, Wash., native is currently seventh in the NCAA at 11.10 assists per set this season. Pukis trails only Savannah Vach of Miami (FL) (5,005 assists) on the active list.

Sophomore Mimi Colyer is third in the Pac-12 with 38 service aces. She had five of the Ducks' 12 aces in the Nov. 5 victory over Colorado. Colyer is one of six Oregon players with 10 or more aces, joined by Hannah Pukis (23), Gabby Gonzales (20), Daley McClellan (19), Kate Thibault (19) and libero Georgia Murphy (15).
Building Blocks
Senior Karson Bacon recorded a career-high 10 blocks in the Ducks' four-set win at No. 6 Washington State (Oct. 27). It replaced her previous best of nine blocks in 2019, also against WSU. With her fifth block against Utah (Nov. 3), Bacon moved into sole possession of fifth place on Oregon's career list.

Seniors Georgia Murphy (3.40) and Hannah Pukis (3.10) enter the weekend as the only Pac-12 teammates averaging at least 3.00 digs per set. Murphy, the UO libero, is scooping 3.69 digs per set during conference play and Pukis has 10 or more digs in 18 matches this season.
