Ducks Sweep Road Trip To Denver

DENVER – Oregon finished off a perfect weekend road trip to the mountains with a 4-2 win over Denver on Sunday to improve to 3-2 on the season.
How it Happened: The Ducks took the doubles point for the second straight match to get out to a 1-0 advantage. After Misaki Kobayashi and Ares Teixido Garcia picked up a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles, Sophie Luescher and Uxia Martinez Moral battled back from down 6-5 in their match to clinch the opening point with a 7-6 win at the No. 1 spot.
Freshman Karin Young quickly put up the second point of the day with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 5 spot to make it 2-0. After Denver tied the match at two, Teixido Garcia moved the Ducks a point away from clinching with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at the No. 3 spot, making it 3-2.
Luescher finished off a sweep victory at No. 1 singles taking a tight first set before dominating in the second for a 7-5, 6-2 win to clinch the match for Oregon.
