Another Sweep Runs Win Streak To Six

EUGENE, Ore. – After battling back to take the doubles point, No. 35 Oregon delivered another dominant performance in singles to extend its winning streak to six matches with a 7-0 win over Idaho Friday in the Student Tennis Center.
How It Happened: For the sixth straight match, Oregon won the opening point with victories at No. 1 and 3 doubles. Karin Young and Allison Mulville quickly wrapped up their match at No. 3 doubles with a 6-2 win, before Ares Teixido Garcia and Sophie Luescher overcame and early 3-1 deficit to win 6-4 at the No. 1 spot and give the Ducks a 1-0 lead.
Luescher turned in a dominant effort at the No. 1 spot in singles, sweeping up a 6-0, 6-0 win to make it 2-0 shortly before fellow freshman Young won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles to put the Ducks a point away from a clinch. Lillian Mould provided the clincher with a win at the No. 4 spot, taking a battle of a first set before cruising in the second for a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
Mulville put up a strong effort at No. 6 singles in a 6-1, 6-2 win while Myah Petchey won at the No. 2 spot, 6-1, 6-2 and Teixido Garcia won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 4 to finish off the sweep victory for the Ducks.
