Six-Match Home Stand Begins Friday

EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon men's tennis team will play its first of six-consecutive home matches Friday evening when it hosts San Diego at the Student Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. PT. San Diego is the Ducks' third-straight opponent that played in the NCAA Tournament last year.

The Ducks split a pair of matches at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Palo Alto, Calif. In the opener, Oregon posted a 4-1 win over Minnesota with freshman Joshua Charlton clinching the match at No. 5 singles. The win set up a match with host and 10th-ranked Stanford. The doubles point came down to a tiebreak on court two. At the time Stanford clinched the match, junior Ty Gentry and sophomore Riki Oshima were each up a set.

Senior Thomas Laurent enters the weekend third in program history with 85 career wins in singles play. Including the fall schedule, the Duck senior is 10-3 this season with a 3-1 mark this spring. Laurent also sits fifth on the UO doubles list with 73 victories.
