The final match of the day went down to the very wire between Sangwan and No. 62 Doyle, but Stanford would come out victorious, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(8).
What it Means: With one home match remaining Saturday against Cal, Oregon has an overall record of 11-8 this season. The Ducks are 3-5 against nationally ranked opponents this season and move to 5-3 at home.
Quotes: Head coach Alison Silverio –
"Today, we came out in the doubles and played solid. Doubles was a focus for us in practice. We mixed up the teams, and the chemistry and the energy was better. In singles, we weren't quite able to get the momentum going our way."
"Tomorrow is another opportunity to compete again. At the end of the day, that's what we want to be able to do - compete and fight in every match."
"Senior day tomorrow will certainly be special being able to honor Marlou and Paloma. I know all the girls will want to bring their best for them – we're certainly looking to do that every match, but I think tomorrow will be a great ending for our seniors' careers here at Oregon."
