How it Happened: Tobita and Sangwan proved why they were the No. 3 seeded doubles pair cruising to UO's first-ever appearance in the northwest regional semifinals.
The duo opened the day with an 8-1 win over USF's Alexa Meyer and Anna Sokiran before sweeping Gonzaga's Alexandra Bourguignon and Haruna Tsuruta 8-0.
Senior Nia Rose and junior Daniela Nasser pulled out an 8-7(6) win in their opening match against fifth-seeded Madison Clarke and Maddie Pothoff, but could not get past No. 4 seed Caroline Lampl and Melissa Lord of Stanford falling 8-2.
Sophomores Julia Eshet and Rifanty Kahfiani fell to top-seeded Olivia Hauger and Karla Popovic in the round of 16 8-4.
Notable: Eshet and then-partner Marlou Kluiving matched the Ducks previous best finish in the ITA regionals last season earning a doubles quarterfinal berth, but falling just short of the semifinals.
