The Oregon women's tennis team wrapped up tournament play at the Husky Invitational Sunday to secure a 22-7 overall record in the three-day tournament.
SEATTLE, Wash. – The Oregon women's tennis team closed out play at the Washington Husky Invitational Sunday taking on the hosts in singles play.
The Ducks ended the day on the positive side securing four victories out of their seven matches.
How it Happened: Sophomore Julia Eshet recorded her third straight singles win of the fall invitational with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Washington's Kenadi Hance.
Freshman Paiton Wagner enjoyed her third victory of the weekend as well downing Agela Li 6-4, 6-1.
Junior Daniela Nasser and sophomore Rifanty Kahfiani picked up victories over their Husky counterparts by scores of 6-3, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-3 respectively.
Seniors Nia Rose and Alyssa Tobita both saw their matches decided in a third set, but were unable to come away with victories.
Tobita rallied to force a third set after being swept 6-0 in the first set by No. 18 Stacey Fung, but could not finish off the upset falling 6-0, 4-6, 6-3.
Rose was the only Duck to square off against an opponent from Arkansas eventually falling to Agne Cepelyte 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Notable: The Ducks were 22-7 overall throughout the Husky Invitational … Eshet closed out tournament play undefeated in singles and doubles matches … UO had eight matches go into a third set with the Ducks winning five of those matches … Two of Oregon's three set losses came against ranked opponents.
