Ducks Swept by Sun Devils, 7-0

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State's two ranked players were dominant at the top of the lineup and the No. 36 Ducks could not break through against the No. 22 Arizona State Sun Devils as they fell, 7-0, in a Pac-10 dual match played Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Ducks fall to 12-11 on the year while the Sun Devils move to 11-9.
No. 72 ranked Sabrina Capannolo defeated Oregon's top player, Dominika Dieskova, at the number one position, 6-1, 6-2, as the Sun Devils mixed their lineup and moved No. 34 Nadia Abdala to the No. 2 position, where she defeated Ana Cecilia Olivos in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
The Sun Devils were just too hot for the rest of the Ducks as Carmen Seremeta fell to Roxanne Clark at the No. 3 position, 7-5, 6-3, and Monica Hoz de Vila fell at the No. 4 spot, 6-2, 6-2.
Laila Abdala completed the sweep for the Sun Devils with a 6-1, 6-2 defeat of Anna Powaska. The Ducks were again forced to forfeit the No. 6 match.
ASU won the doubles point as Oregon forfeited the No. 3 match and the 12th-ranked pair of Kady Pooler and Clarke defeated Oregon's top pair of Dieskova and Olivos, 8-4. Powaska and Hoz de Vila would also fall in their doubles match against Capannolo and Jessica Leitch, 8-2.
Oregon returns home as they finish out the regular season against the University of Washington on Sunday, April 22 at Noon.
