BERKELEY, Calif. ? Oregon's second opportunity to knock off a top-10 team this week was unsuccessful on Friday night in a three-game loss to No. 8 California (30-23, 30-28, 30-23) at Haas Pavilion.
The 19th-ranked Ducks, now on a three-match losing streak, fall to 16-9 overall and 5-8 in the Pacific-10 Conference. The Golden Bears, currently ranked eighth in the nation, improve to 19-5, 9-4 Pac-10.
Offensive efficiency was again a problem for Oregon. The team posted a .213 clip, but committed 19 attacking errors and nine service errors.
Junior Gorana Maricic was the only player for Oregon to reach double figures with 10 kills.
Sophomore Nevena Djordjevic had 18 assists and freshman Rachel Morris totaled 15, while junior Katie Swoboda led the Ducks with 13 digs.
It was the third time this season Oregon has been swept, with all of those losses coming in the Pac-10 (Stanford, Oct. 5 and USC, Oct. 12)
