Bruins Shut Out Ducks

LOS ANGELES -- The University of Oregon women's tennis team was shut out Sunday morning against UCLA as the Bruins swept the Ducks, 7-0 at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
“We just looked tired out there, it was a long week for us,” head coach Nils Schyllander said. “Some of our aches and pains just added up especially for our younger players.”
The loss drops Oregon to 12-9 on the season and 1-6 in Pac-10 play.
UCLA swept the doubles point with Oregon coming closest to wins at numbers one and three. At number one Dominika Dieskova and Ceci Olivos fell, 8-4 to Laura Gordon and Riza Zalameda. At three Ashley Joelson and Tracy Lin defeated Anna Powaska and Carmen Seremeta, 8-4.
Dieskova who had a seven match Pac-10 winning streak coming into the weekend, has now lost two straight singles matches as she fell to Gordon, 7-5, 6-2.
The Ducks wrap up their season when they return home to face Washington State, Sunday at noon.
