LOS ANGELES, -- The University of Oregon women's tennis team fell in their first of three matches on the weekend as they lost a tight 4-3 match to Loyola Marymount, Thursday afternoon.

Oregon suffered only one loss in doubles when LMU won at the two spot. Sladjana Kos and Maja Sundac defeated Claudia Hirt and Monica Hoz de Vila of Oregon 8-5. Dominika Dieskova and Ceci Olivos defeated Pavla Mesterova and Robyn Baker, 8-3. Anna Powaska and Carmen Seremeta were also victorious giving Oregon the doubles point.

Seremeta scored one of only two singles wins for the Ducks as she rolled over Patrycia Huybl, 6-1, 6-1. Monica Hoz de Vila de Vila also scored a win for Oregon as she defeated Shawnell Russell with a straight sets shut out, 6-0, 6-0.

Dieskova faced Mesterova in singles and saw her seven match winning streak fall as Mesterova took the match from Dieskova in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.

Claudia Hirt battled through a tough three set match but was unable to earn the win at number five singles, falling to Maja Sundac 6-0, 5-7, 6-2. This win secured the Lions 4-3 margin of victory over the Ducks.
