“We played really well today we had the four points wrapped up early in the match,” head coach Nils Schyllander said. “It was good to get our first outdoors match out of the way and to see how we would play outside.”
The Ducks pushed to an early lead as they won the doubles point in rapid fashion winning at number one and number two doubles.
The team of Cecilia Olivos and Dominika Dieskova rolled winning their match, 8-3 over Bela Mijic and Jayme Hu. Wrapping up the point the Ducks got a victory at number two when Anna Leksinska and Claudia Hirt won, 8-5 over Inna Agababian and Heidi Kaloi.
The Ducks were unable to sweep the point, falling at number three when Becky Bernhard and Ashley Siddall edged the Duck duo of Anna Powaska and Carmen Seremeta, 8-6.
The Ducks won three singles matches on the day, winning at number one when Dieskova got past Bernard in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. Carmen Seremeta was also a singles winner as she beat Mijic in straight sets, winning 7-5, 6-2.
Wrapping up the Ducks wins was senior Anna Leksinska who defeated Jessica Broadfoot in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3.
