“We were up against a very good Longwood team today and we are still trying to put our best together for a full sixty minutes,” head coach Jen Larsen said. “Today just wasn't our day, they played better than we did.”
Four Ducks scored eight of the 10 goals, as Lindsay Killian, Kate Fleming, Ilsa van den Berg and Jana Bradley all scored two goals apiece.
Allison Leiner added two assists for the Ducks while also recording two draw controls.
The Lancers struck first as Ali Shafer scored on a free position shot at 27:09 of the first half. Killian tied the game up a few minutes later as she converted off an assist from Theresa Waldron at 24:53.
The Ducks would hold a 3-2, lead before Longwood scored three unanswered goals, making the score 5-3 in favor of the home team.
