Darrell Hunter is in his eighth year as Oregon’s strength and conditioning coach, while working in his sixth year in a video analytics role.
Before joining the coaching staff, Hunter spent two years as a member of the Ducks’ administrative staff.
The first recruit to sign with the Ducks in Oregon’s modern era, Hunter has been a mainstay with the program ever since. As a player, the Springfield, Ore., native was a member of the inaugural 2009 team as well as the 2013 and 2014 teams.
As a pitcher, Hunter posted a career 3.22 ERA over 49 relief appearances at Oregon. In 2014 the right-hander held opponents to a .186 batting average, which ranks ninth all time at Oregon.
Hunter signed with Texas as an undrafted free agent after the 2014 season, playing one season in the Rangers organization before returning to Oregon.
Hunter graduated from Oregon in 2013 with a degree in sociology and earned his Master’s in educational leadership in 2020. He and his wife Jessica have with three sons -- Trey, Cam and Miles.
