An, Ducks In Third After 36 Holes At Stephens Cup

FRISCO, Texas – Led once again by junior Tong An, the Oregon women's golf team is in third place after going 3-over par across a 36-hole day to open the Jackson T. Stephens Cup on Monday at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco.

Playing in a six-team field in a tournament broadcast live on Golf Channel, the Ducks shot 4 under in the opening 18 holes before going 7 over in the second round. South Carolina currently leads the field at 9-under par and is trailed closely by Wake Forest (-8), and Oregon is three strokes up on Texas (+6) and four strokes ahead of Florida State (+7).

The top two teams following Tuesday's final round of stroke play will face off in the championship match on Wednesday, and the third- and fourth-place teams will go head-to-head in a third-place match.

An is tied for third place individually at 2-under par after putting together a pair of 1-under 71s. An all-Big Ten first-team selection last season as a sophomore, An led Oregon in its season opener last week in a tie for fifth at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.

How it Happened: While An was steady with a 71 in the opening round, it was sophomore Shyla Singh who set the tone. The lefty from Australia made five birdies on the front nine, including four in five holes between No. 4 and No. 8, and six total to card a career-low 4-under 68.

Singh was the individual leader through 18 holes, and her 4-under 68 stands as the low individual round in the field so far.

An made just one bogey in the first round with a pair of birdies for a 71, and freshman Prim Prachnakorn was right behind with an even-par 72 in her collegiate debut. Sophomore Trinity Beth rounded out the counting scores with a 1-over 73, and all four counting scorers made birdie on No. 17 as Oregon closed out a strong opening round.

While back-to-back tough holes for Singh early in the second round led to a non-counting, 4-over 76 for the 18-hole leader, An continued her consistent play with three birdies and just two bogeys for a second straight 71.

An has now shot par-or-better in all five rounds to open 2026-27, and she enters Tuesday six strokes back of South Carolina's Molly McLean (-6) for the individual lead.

Freshman Celina Yeo carded a 2-over 74, and Prachnakorn and Beth both came in with at 3 over to complete the counting scores.
