
Ducks Collect 55 NCAA West Entries

The NCAA West First Round will be contested May 27-30 in Fayetteville, Ark.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon track and field team will have 55 entries at next week's NCAA West First Round meet as released Thursday morning. This year's regional meet takes place May 27-30 at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Ark.

National qualifiers in the combined events were also announced Thursday featuring Liisa-Maria Lusti in the heptathlon. The reigning NCAA indoor pentathlon champion scored a lifetime-best 5,917 points in a runner-up finish at last weekend's Big Ten Championships. Lusti is also a West qualifier in the long jump.

The UO men will have six qualifiers each in the 1500 and 5,000 meters including Simeon Birnbaum and Tayson Echohawk entered in both. The UO women will have five qualifiers in the 1500 with three in the 5,000 meters and triple jump.
