Postseason Starts Friday in Nebraska

The Ducks will have 14 total scoring chances in five events on day one of the Big Ten Championships.
LINCOLN, Neb. – The Oregon track and field team kicks off its postseason campaign this weekend with the 2026 Big Ten Outdoor Championships in Lincoln, Neb. The three-day meet starts Friday morning at the Nebraska Outdoor Track and Field Complex. The Men of Oregon are the reigning team champions.

Day one of the conference meet will include scoring opportunities in seven events. The Ducks will have eight entries in the 10,000 meters—five men, three women—including Big Ten leaders Evan Burke and Diana Cherotich. Additional scoring chances for Oregon will come in the women's pole vault and men's and women's javelin. The Ducks have no entries in the men's and women's hammer.

The first two days of the Big Ten Outdoor Championships will be streamed on B1G+ and RunnerSpace. The Big Ten Network will televise the final day of the meet with B1G+ and RunnerSpace streaming the field events on day three.

The Men and Women of Oregon swept the Big Ten cross country and indoor team titles, and have the first two legs of a potential conference triple crown.

Friday's schedule will also feature day one of the combined events for Aiden Carter in the decathlon and Liisa-Maria Lusti in the heptathlon. Carter won the Big Ten indoor heptathlon title earlier this season and Lusti is the reigning NCAA indoor pentathlon champion.

Preliminary heats of the 200 meters, 1500 meters and 400-meter hurdles will also take place on day one of the Big Ten Championships. Collegiate-record holder Simeon Birnbaum and NCAA indoor mile champ Wilma Nielsen headline the Ducks' entries in the 1500. Birnbaum is also entered at 5,000 meters where he is the defending Big Ten champion.

Conference weekend also provides the final opportunity to add or improve national qualifiers with the top 48 in each region advancing to the NCAA East and West First Round meets (May 27-30). The Ducks will compete at the west site in Fayetteville, Ark.

The top 12 from each regional site then advances to the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships (June 10-13) at Hayward Field in Eugene. All-session and single-day ticket packages for the NCAA Championships are currently on sale.
