Ducks Drop Match to No. 20 Michigan State

EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon men's tennis was swept by No. 20 Michigan State 4-0 on Sunday.
The Ducks dropped the doubles point to open the match after Michigan State's Ozan Baris and Matthew Forbes defeated Oregon's Matthew Burton and Pierre Mouesca 6-1 on court one, while the Spartans' Taym Alazmeh and David Saye topped Cameron Burton and Lachlan Robertson on court three 6-4. The doubles match on court two featuring Vlad Breazu and Declan Galligan was unfinished.
In singles, Michigan State secured the clinch with three consecutive victories. Aristotelis Thanos defeated Breazu 6-3, 6-2, Alazmeh beat Sam Olszakowski 6-2, 1-6, 6-1 and Mitchell Sheldon downed Robertson after Robertson withdrew due to injury.
The other three singles matches were all unfinished. Mouesca was ahead 5-2 in the second set after dropping the first set against No. 13 Matthew Forbes. Matthew Burton was down 4-1 in the third set and Cameron Burton was up 4-2 in the second set after dropping the first set in a tiebreak.
Oregon heads back on the road next weekend to face Ohio State and Penn State.
