
No. 2 Ohio State Sweeps Oregon

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Oregon was swept by No. 2 Ohio State 4-0 on Friday at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center in Columbus, Ohio.
The Ducks (13-8, 4-6) dropped the doubles point after the Buckeyes secured wins at Nos. 1 and 3. Ohio State's third-ranked duo of Nikita Filin and Brandon Carpico defeated Oregon's 40th-ranked pair of Matthew Burton and Pierre Mouesca 6-3, while Bryce Nakashima and Aidan Kim added a 6-3 win over Cameron Burton and Sam Olszakowski on court three.
In singles, Oregon was unable to recover as Ohio State (23-3, 9-1) clinched the match with straight-set victories. Nikita Filin topped Russell Soohoo 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 to give the Buckeyes a 2-0 lead. Loren Byers followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Sam Olszakowski at No. 4, and Jack Anthrop sealed the match with a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Pierre Mouesca at No. 2.
The remaining matches went unfinished. Oregon now heads to Penn State for a matchup with the Nittany Lions at 8 a.m. PT Sunday.Â
