
Ducks Pick Up Road Win at Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. — Oregon men's tennis secured a 4–1 road win over Northwestern Sunday at Combe Tennis Center.
Oregon improved to 10-3 with the victory over No. 42 Northwestern (12-4), clinching the match with three singles wins after taking the doubles point.
The Ducks opened the match by claiming the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Vlad Breazu and Declan Galligan defeated Cyrus Mahjoob and Ethan Schiffman 6-4, while Lachlan Robertson and Cameron Burton secured the point with a 6-3 victory over Vincent Yang and Chad Miller. Northwestern's Carter Pate and Greyson Casey won the top doubles match 6-4.
Oregon extended its lead in singles play behind Breazu, who earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over Pate at the No. 1 position. Northwestern answered with a straight-sets win at No. 6, where Cooper Han defeated Declan Galligan 6-4, 6-3.
The Ducks regained control with a comeback victory from Matthew Burton at No. 4. After dropping the opening set, Burton rallied to beat Ethan Schiffman 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. Lachlan Robertson then clinched the match for Oregon with a 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 win over Chad Miller at No. 5 singles.
Two matches remained unfinished when the clinching point was secured. Pierre Mouesca led Cyrus Mahjoob 4-6, 7-6 (12-10), 2-0 at No. 2 singles, while Sam Olszakowski trailed Greyson Casey 7-5, 5-7, 5-3 at No. 3.
