STANFORD, Calif. – Friday's round rearranged the standings amongst the Oregon lineup, as the team remains in 11th place after 36 holes at The Goodwin. Three Ducks improved upon their opening rounds at Stanford Golf Course, posting improved finishes on Friday.Â
Â
Senior Aiden Krafft was the low-scoring Duck of the day, capping a 3-under scorecard with an eagle on the 16th hole. Jeffrey Kwak and Sebastian Desoisa improved their scores in the second round as well after shooting high rounds to open the tournament.
Â
How It Happened
Recovering from Thursday's opening round, Krafft balanced his tournament score with three birdies and an eagle. The senior, who finished second at the Duck Invitational earlier this week, wrapped up Friday's play with a 67 and moved up 64 spots on the leaderboard to finish with an even 140 for the tournament entering Saturday's final round in a tie for 27th individually.
Â
Desoisa rattled off three consecutive birdies beginning on the 16th hole, and added one more on No. 7 to finish the round at par. Joining Desoisa's improved standings, Kwak finished just two strokes over par with three birdies on his card.
Â
Competing as an individual, Oscar Lent joined Desoisa at No. 83Â overall after finishing three over on Friday. Lent has been the most consistent Duck between the two rounds.
Â
Casper Nerpin went 3-over, but his low 67 in the opening round left him in a tie for 27th with Krafft and an even score for the tournament moving into day three. Ramil Saelim could not continue the momentum from his 5-under 65 on Thursday and went 8-over moving down to 60th on the leaderboard.
