CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. — The Oregon men's golf team captured its second tournament title in three outings, winning The Preserve Golf Club Collegiate on Tuesday to close out the four-tournament fall schedule.
Facing an uphill battle down the stretch, the Ducks delivered their best golf over the final four holes, combining to shoot 6-under and overtake BYU, which had led throughout the final round. Oregon finished at 23-under to secure a two-stroke victory.
It's a huge shot of confidence for us to win and know what we're capable of, head coach Casey Martin said. The Preserve is no joke. We faced a lot of adversity, and the course was very difficult today. It means a lot to get it done here.
We had a really nice fall. Coming into the season, there were a lot of uncertainties, but the guys keep showing Coach Quinney and me that they can play. I've seen some amazing shots these last few events, and I'm super stoked for the guys. They were incredibly happy to get a win, and as coaches, it's really rewarding to see that joy.
The Ducks opened the 2026-27 season with renewed momentum, capturing two tournament titles in its first four events after going winless during the 2025-26 campaign. Oregon's strong start marks the first time since the 2014-15 season that the program has claimed multiple tournament titles through its first four outings.
The early success signals a strong response from an Oregon squad that recorded two runner-up finishes last season but fell short of qualifying for the NCAA Championships.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Oregon entered Tuesday's final round in third at 17-under, seven strokes behind leader BYU. The Ducks battled through an up-and-down round and sat at even par for the day with four holes remaining before delivering a late surge, combining to play their final four holes at 6-under. Oregon closed with a 6-under 282, the lowest final-round team score in the field, to overtake BYU and secure the tournament title.
Adam Anderson helped spark the late comeback, entering his final four holes at 1-over before recording three birdies over his final four holes. The sophomore finished with a 2-under 70 to earn a share of fifth at 6-under, his second consecutive top-five finish after claiming a share of the individual title at the Saint Mary's Invitational last week.
Sebastian Desoisa played his final eight holes bogey-free, recording four birdies, including two over his final four holes. After sitting at 5-over earlier in the round, the sophomore battled back to finish with a 1-over 73 and finish third individually at 8-under. Desoisa has now finished fourth, tied for 10th and third in his three tournament appearances this fall.
Ramil Saelim posted Oregon's lowest final-round score with a 4-under 68, playing both his opening and closing nine holes at 2-under. Despite bogeys on his final two holes, the junior secured a share of fifth at 6-under, joining Anderson in the top five.
Carl-Hugo Eriksson delivered a strong finish of his own, playing his final six holes bogey-free with four birdies, including two over his final four holes. The freshman erased a 3-over start to finish with a 1-under 71, climbing 10 spots on the individual leaderboard to earn a share of 20th at 2-under.
