Saelim Leads Lineup After Low First Round
03/26/26 | Men's Golf
STANFORD, Calif. – The Oregon men's golf team opened their second tournament and fourth round of the week with an even finish at The Goodwin.
Â
Sophomore Ramil Saelim and senior Casper Nerpin led the lineup to sit in a tie for second after 18 holes. Saelim is in a tie for second, just a stroke behind the leader, at 5-under.
Â
How It Happened
Coming off a 3-under 68 in the final round of the Duck Invitational on Tuesday, Saelim carried the momentum into Thursday's first round and carded a 5-under 65, his lowest result of the spring season.
Â
Nerpin fired off four birdies for his sixth round under par this year. The senior transfer went 3-under to open The Goodwin and stands at No. 9 on the leaderboard.
Â
Aiden Krafft, Sebastian Desoisa and Jeffrey Kwak were all foiled by a double bogey at various points in their rounds, finishing over par on day one. Competing as an individual, freshman Oscar Lent marked an even three birdies and bogeys, but a double bogey put him two over on the day as well.
