02/10/26 | Baseball
Hillsboro, Ore. – Oregon and Oregon State will renew one of the nation's oldest college baseball rivalries on Tuesday, April 14, at 6 p.m. in the inaugural Northwest Elite Baseball Classic at the new $150-million, 6,000-seat Hops Ballpark in Hillsboro, Ore.
The game will bring elite collegiate baseball to the Portland metropolitan area in a world-class setting. The game will be the first meeting in the Portland area between the two teams since they set the all-time Pac-10 Conference baseball attendance record with a crowd of 15,540 fans at what is now Providence Park. In total, the two-game series drew 29,249 fans to see the matchup on March 28-29, 2009.
For ticketing purposes, Oregon will occupy the third base dugout. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. at Hillsboro Hops Tickets | Hops (www.milb.com/hillsboro/tickets). A presale will also be held for season ticket holders and donors on Feb. 12.
The Northwest Elite Baseball Classic is designed to engage fans throughout the state while providing meaningful financial support to both programs. Proceeds from the event will be guaranteed to each team, helping fund their baseball programs at a time when financial support for sports outside of football and basketball is critical to long-term success.
"We are excited to bring this rivalry game to the Portland area and to a brand-new, state-of-the-art stadium," said Oregon head coach Mark Wasikowski. "This event allows us to connect with Duck fans across the state and showcase college baseball at the highest level while supporting the continued growth of our program."
The rivalry between Oregon and Oregon State is one of the most storied in college baseball with the first matchup played in 1894. In the all-time series, Oregon State leads Oregon by a record of 197–172. Since Oregon reinstated its baseball program in 2009, Oregon State holds a 47–30 advantage in games played between 2009 and 2025, with Oregon winning the last six. Both teams enter the 2026 season having made five consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
