05/15/25 | Women's Volleyball
Oregon adds its ninth and 10th newcomers in the past three weeks.
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon volleyball head coach Trent Kersten continues to build the Ducks' roster with the additions of Cora Taylor and Orian Drore. Taylor joins the Ducks after three seasons as the starting setter at Butler while Drore, a defensive specialist, comes to Eugene after a season at Tennessee.
"We're excited to officially welcome Cora and Orian to Eugene and the Oregon family," Kersten said of the latest UO newcomers. "Cora adds valuable experience to our setter group, and I'm confident her leadership and court presence will have a strong impact on the program. Orian brings an elite level of play at the libero position—some of the defensive plays she makes will absolutely energize our fans. We can't wait to get to work with both when they arrive in Eugene."
Cora Taylor
5-9 | Setter
Independence, Ky. (St. Henry HS/Butler)
Taylor played in 89 matches over three seasons at Butler and in that time, amassed 3,036 assists, 719 digs, 175 kills, 141 total blocks and 82 service aces. She was a member of the BIG EAST All-Freshman in 2022 and was recognized for weekly honors four times during her career in Indianapolis. In a display of her well-rounded skillset, Taylor had 32 double-doubles at Butler.
The Independence, Ky., native led the BIG EAST with 1,144 assists during her sophomore season. That year, Taylor established a career high with 56 assists in a five-set win against Cincinnati. She comes to Eugene with eight matches of 50 or more assists. Taylor also has a best of 19 digs from her freshman year and just last season, tallied a career-high 33 aces.
Orian Drore
5-7 | Libero/Def. Specialist
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (Cypress Bay HS/Tennessee)
Drore will join the Ducks as a redshirt freshman with prior USA Volleyball experience having trained within the National Team Development Program. With her Tribe Volleyball club, she was part of the team that made back-to-back national appearances and won a state championship.
Taylor and Drore join the list of UO newcomers already featuring Marlee Arrington, Alanah Clemente, Jillian McCarty, Holley McFadden, Sophia Meyers, Iva Sucurovic, Maria Tabacuks and Valentina Vaulet.
Last week, Tabacuks was named to Germany's Volleyball Nations League (VNL) 30-woman roster pool that will play other top countries throughout the summer.
