EUGENE, Ore. – Four members of the Oregon men's golf team were recognized by the Big Ten Conference when it released its postseason awards on Thursday.
Greyson Leach was named to the All-Big Ten first team while Eric Doyle and Aiden Krafft both garnered second team recognition. Ramil Saelim earned a spot on the all-freshman team as well as being recognized at the Ducks' sportsmanship honoree.
Leach has been stellar during his senior season, posting a team-best 70.88 scoring average through 11 events. He's tallied three top-10 and four top-20 finishes this season, including coming in in second place at both the Big Ten Championships and Bandon Dunes Championship. At the Big Ten Championships last week, Leach became just the 12th Oregon golfer since the 1993-94 season to tally 400 career birdies, 104 of which have come this season.
Leach was an all-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2023 and all-freshman honorable mention in 2022. He was also named to the Big Ten all-championships team after finishing second at Baltimore Country Club.
Krafft started his year with a bang, medaling for the first time in his collegiate career at the Sahalee Players Championship to open the season. He added another top-five results with a fourth-place finish at the Bandon Dunes Championship and put together the best scoring round of his career at the Amer Ari Invitational, finishing with a 12-under 204. Krafft leads the ducks with 123 birdies this season and is second on the team with a 71.12 scoring average.
This marks the second career conference honor for Krafft, who was a Pac-12 all-freshman honorable mention in 2023.
Doyle came on strong during his first full season in the lineup, boasting a 71.64 scoring average – the third lowest on the team and the best of his career. The senior claimed three top-10 and four top-20 finishes this season, including back-to-back top five results. After finishing fourth at The Preserve Golf Course Collegiate, Doyle carded a stunning 17-under 199 at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate to finish in fifth place. It marked just the sixth time an Oregon golfer scored under 200 in a 54-hole tournament, and he became the first to do so on a par-72 course. His opening-round 63 (-9) is tied for the fifth lowest by a Duck and the second-lowest score to par.
This is also the second career conference honor for Doyle, who earned all-Pac-12 honorable mention honors a season ago after finishing 10th at the Pac-12 Championships.
Saelim has been a revelation for the Ducks during the spring season. He made his debut in the Oregon lineup at the Bandon Dunes Championship, shooting a 5-over 218 to finish tied for sixth. The freshman posted his best result of the year the next time out, tying for third at the Duck Invitational thanks to a 6-under 65 in the second round. Saelim sports a 72.17 scoring average, the fourth highest among Oregon golfers.
Oregon will next hit the course as the six seed at the NCAA Auburn Regional in Auburn, Ala. First round action begins on Monday, May 12.
